How to play Star Steps
- Set up a Star Steps invitation with your chosen result and optional name or message, then open the game and press START.
- Hold on the game area with a mouse or finger to charge a jump, then release. You can also hold and release Space while the game control is focused.
- Watch the next platform and adjust how long you hold. Work through the eight steps toward the destination.
- Reach the end for the reveal. If the run ends, use TRY AGAIN to take another turn without changing the saved announcement.
What makes this reveal different
The hold-and-release control rewards timing rather than rapid tapping. Moving platforms, a growing trail of color, and the final arrival give Star Steps a different rhythm from a spinning wheel or countdown. The game supports mouse, touch, and a keyboard Space control.
Use it for an online gender reveal
Make the journey part of a virtual party by asking guests to count successful landings out loud while one host plays. Take turns between attempts when celebrating in the same room. For remote guests, screen sharing keeps everyone watching the same jumps; separate links create separate play sessions.
Tips before you start
Release after charging to make the pearl jump; simply holding continuously will not move through the course. If touch input is interrupted, lift your finger and try again when the pearl is standing. Keep the game area focused for keyboard play.
Your invitation contains the saved result. Share the complete link only with people you want to invite, and use a separate practice reveal if you want to rehearse. Read our Privacy Policy for how shared links and browser storage work.
